You shoulda seen the one that got away!

'Jaws' record-breaking catfish caught in Spain

A British angler has landed a European record on his first catfishing expedition. Carl Smith, pictured right with friend Dave Jones, caught the 226lb wels catfish on holiday in Spain.

The men struggled with the 8ft monster for more than 90 minutes and have named it Jaws.

that's a ugly fish, they must've used an ugly stick.

Mr Jaws leaves behind 14 wives and 447 offspring.

A former accountant, Mr Jaws was known to go fish-hooking on his weekends or whenever time permitted. His best friend, Charlie Tuna, said Mr Jaws especially enjoyed finding new suckers and taking their bait.

He was actively involved in his community and especially in the "Home for Wayard Girl Fish".

Mr Jaws will be missed the community and by his pond-mates.

lol Personally, I bet Mr. Jaws was the John Gotti of the pond!

And ugly doesn't begin to describe this guy. This is why I don’t like to swim in water I can’t see through. If something like this were to touch me under the water I think I would just die. I’m always afraid that big fish like this are going to be attracted to my toenail polish!

I forgot to mention that Mr Jaws was also an actor with a starring role as the fabled Catfish Hunter, a gigantic catfish that actually smiles at fishermen who try to snare it, in the movie "Grumpier Old Men" starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau (1995).

an "Ugly Stick" is the name of a fishing rod, made by Shakespeare, I think

lmao like I would know that! An ugly stick has a whole different meaning to me.

Makes your first statement even funnier :>
