We’re like Dr. Frankenstein. We basically created Saddam in the ‘80s, by protecting, defending, and arming him against Iran. Then, when he starts scaring the townsfolk, we hunt him down with torches and take him out.
Don’t get me wrong; I’ll not lose any sleep over his death, the fewer crazy dictators in the world the better. But the crazy dictator running our own country is closing the gap on Saddam’s record for causing the deaths of his own people, and I don’t see anybody chasing him with a torch.
Not yet at least, but Saddam never thought his time would come to be chased down like a rabid dog either, so it may also come to pass for another crazy dictator, everyone is eventually expendable right?
Yep, I’m looking for this to happen about a minute after he’s no longer president. I’m betting Congress won’t pursue him seriously until after 2008, when it will be too late for a presidential pardon, and more importantly, too late for Cheney to slide into the Oval office.
Well there is always the chance they can push Cheney into a heart attack (Like revealing the fact that Steven Colbert or David Crosby was the father of Mary Cheney's baby) then that would leave room for Bush to be impeached and Nancy Pelosi to take over.
The odds are looking better and anything can happen still
