Yeah baby!

Obama Takes 1st Step in Presidential Bid

Democratic Sen. Barack Obama said Tuesday he is taking the initial step in a presidential bid that could make him the nation's first black to occupy the White House.

Obama announced on his Web site that he was filing a presidential exploratory committee. He said he would announce more about his plans in his home state of Illinois on Feb. 10.

"I certainly didn't expect to find myself in this position a year ago," Obama said in a video posting. "I've been struck by how hungry we all are for a different kind of politics. So I've spent some time thinking about how I could best advance the cause of change and progress that we so desperately need."

It’s like coming in from the sewer to a clean, warm, shower, isn’t it? As much as I like John Edwards, I believe and trust Obama more. The worst thing anyone can say about him is that he’s inexperienced. Well, what exactly has experience done for us lately?

As far as I’m concerned, his lack of experience is a selling point. I’m sick of professional politicians. When you’re a good man, ruled by a good heart, AND YOU HAVE A CONSCIENCE, then experience isn’t necessary. You’ll make the right decisions as you go along.

You don’t need experience to do the right thing. The thought of an Obama White House is like light at the end of a long, dank, human waste-filled tunnel. It’s like the hero showing up on the scene and rescuing you from a room full of rapists. If he is judged on his heart and his integrity, he should have no problem sweeping the elections.

If he is judged on the kind of man that he is, he'll be neither black nor white, he'll be golden…

I too thought that his inexperience would be refreshing until I was nearly brainwashed by a Republican friend (assuming that is not an oxymoron) on the perks of someone in that position having experience. I'm now back to thinking I prefer inexperience.

just when did Bush Jr get experience? It's pretty obvious he's still having issues with his dad, running Texas ain't the same as running a nation, and he being in the non-mobilized National Guard ain't exactly military experience.

Of course, he surrounded himself with folks with experience--but they're all wolves in sheep clothing or maybe demons in human attaire

I don’t know. Maybe it’s time to let a “man” try his hand at running the country instead of a “politician”.

Let’s face it; Bush has set the bar pretty low, so could a novice screw it up any worse?

Some days I feel like this.

Of course, there's this and this and this and this.

"I do not run for the Presidency merely to oppose any man but to propose new policies. I run because I am convinced that this country is on a perilous course and because I have such strong feelings about what must be done, and I feel that I'm obliged to do all I can." --Robert F. Kennedy, March 16, 1968.

Here's another reason why there's not much difference between Reps and Dems when it comes to money and special interests.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein has re-introduced the PERFORM Act, a backdoor assault on your right to record off the radio. Internet webcasters (as well as Satellite and digital radio stations) would have to adopt digital rights management (DRM) restrictions or lose the statutory license for broadcasting music.

Don't Let Congress Shackle Digital Music.

Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white atheist from Wichita, Kansas. Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii.
When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a radical Muslim from Indonesia. When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a Muslim school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school." Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education. Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Osama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the radical teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background. Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy. This may be the beginning to the end of the good old USA if we are stupid enough to let the fox in the henhouse.

Oh, Mytoes, no you di-int. You know I like you, so I’ll not shred you like I would have if someone else had said what you did. But I’m afraid, my dear man, that you’ve been sniffing the nail polish a little too much.

First off, I have no idea where you got your info from but it sounds like it was copied and pasted straight from a Fox News site. Actually it could be from any number of wingnut sites. It reeks of fear and racism so I know it’s from a Republican site somewhere.

You see, the Reps Are so afraid of Obama they are literally wetting their pants at the thought of this guy becoming president. They are going to great lengths to smear Obama every chance they get. Fox News has, on three separate occasions, “accidently” put up a picture of Obama when doing a story on Osama bin Laudin. They’ve also gotten the names mixed up and put the name Osama on a picture of Obama. They’re either the worst news outfit EVER and should fire their graphics dept. or they’re just idiots who will do any juvenile trick to smear Obama. I’m going with the idiot factor.

I’m sure the Republicans will keep up the rumors about Obama being a Muslim. Let’s face it, that’s all they got. That’s the worst thing they can say about him so they’ve latched onto this possibility and are trying to feed this unrealistic fear to all the retards that may still be watching their shows and reading their websites. Fear is all the Religious Right has. Bush is the king of shoveling fear to the American people, but the country has finally wised up to this tactic and we want his head on a pike for using it.

Now, let’s say that everything you’ve posted is true. Let’s say that Obama’s father was a Muslim. Let’s say his stepfather was too. SO WHAT? I’d rather have an honest Muslim in the White House than an ignorant, lying, evil piece of crap who claims to be sitting at the right hand of God.

You know what I heard on the news the other night, Mytoes? ALL MUSLIMS ARE NOT TERRORISTS! Judging all Muslims by the acts of the most extreme crazies of the religion would be like judging all American by the antics of the Religious Right. If you are a Christian, how would you like to be judged by the likes of Pastor Haggard? I don’t judge him, but the facts are he cheated on his wife with another man. How about if I assume that you’ve cheated on your lovely wife with another man because you’re a Christian? How would you like to be judged by what the most extreme of your religion have been caught doing? I certainly wouldn’t.

So, Mytoes, my advice would be to stop rotting your mind reading or listening to Fox news or any other fear-based republican site. It can only warp your mind and make you afraid of your own shadow. And you know I love you, but a man who wears toenail polish shouldn’t be judging anybody.

I'm not judging him yet. I have a fear about someone that has very little experience in government. I don't trust Hillary either. I do like Mr. Edwards. I will vote for the right person and will be very cautious, as we all should. There isn't any news that reports all the truth and that is the truth about iraq. I have relatives and friend that have been there. My nephew was Special Op's Marines, first in Iraq. Sure, Bush doesn't do it all right but has done some good. We haven't had someone that has been a real President since Reagan. You might not like him either! One great thing about this country is that we can disagree and still be friends. When it comes down to it don't forget WE ARE THE PEOPLE that choose the government. Or are we?
